In 1948, the Rubber Industry was feeling the deep impact of World War II
due to the need for rubber by the military. Civilian companies in need of rubber products in
the United States had been left to fend for themselves.
It was during this turbulant time that Messrs. Troup and Moriarty founded T&M Rubber, Inc.,
in Goshen, Indiana. These two gentlemen broke away from a larger rubber manufacturer in the area and
started their own business due to a need for a company to manufacture specialized
rubber products. At the time, personnel with specialized skills were brought in to make up the
management team for this fledgling company.
After the war, T&M Rubber's success took root through the manufacture of lathe-cut
seals and gaskets, often made from materials specifically designed to meet the rigorous requirements of special applications.
In 1969, T&M Rubber, Inc. was acquired by Jone Furniture and in 1970, T&M expanded their lathe
operation by opening a facility in Middlefield, Ohio. Then, in 1978, an additional facility was opened
in Goshen to begin manufacturing molded rubber products.
Throughout the years that followed though, T&M had difficulty achieving the same level of success that it experienced in it's core business.
So, as part of an effort to improve efficiencies and to streamline operations, T&M decided in
1998 to consolidate it's Middlefield, Ohio operations with it's operations in Goshen. Then, the following year, T&M divested itself
of the molding operation in order to provide manufacturing space for the growing lathe-cut business.
T&M had returned to it's roots to once again concentrate on and improve upon the fundamentals of it's core lathe-cut business.
All throughout the years, T&M Rubber, Inc. has maintained its development and production of specialty rubber products
and, today, continues to grow and remain a world-class operation in the Rubber Industry.
